Kaleidoscope Arts Camp

Pottery Glazing

3 Week Class (1-1/2 hours)
Cost: $85 (includes clay & glazes)
Minimum of 3, Maximum of 6 People Per Session
This class is ongoing through out the year; times vary.

Class held at: Wild Womyn Studio

This class is offered twice a year and is designed for the person who has clay and some kiln firing knowledge. Please bring a notebook to class for writing down info. By the end of class you will have test tiles to take home and will have an understanding of pottery glazes.

First Week

Learn about under glazing on greenware and bisque ware
Learn to use a slab roller
Make test tiles
White clay body
Terra cotta
Black clay body
Introduction to finishes and glazes (The whole picture)

Second Week

Glazing - Mix commercial cone 04 & 6 glazes
Learn brushing, dipping, pouring, and spraying glazes
Wax re-sist
2 & 3 layer glazing

Third Week

Finish up work from 2nd week class
Take home final products

A non refundable deposit of $25 is due two weeks before the first class date or as soon as possible to reserve your spot. The balance is due on the first day of class.
